THE BODY RESET PROGRAM IS HERE!!!!

In March of 2018 I hit a wall with my workouts and body… I wasn’t losing weight or seeing any changes to my body even though I was consistent with my workouts. I would eat healthy during the week, but the weekends were a free for all. Also, I was having severe bloating every single day that was absolutely miserable. That’s when I learned my body had hit a plateau… This lifestyle wasn’t sustainable because my body didn’t know how to properly burn FAT or SUGARS the right way anymore.

The worst part… I started getting fat on my back! Like right under my armpit where my bra line hits. Umm…hell no. So that’s when I had a brutal conversation with my trainer, Jon McDowell, from VIVE personal training. He told me the only way I was going to see the results I wanted was with a a 6-week body reset. And I thought Whole30 sounded hard…ha.

WHAT IS THE BODY RESET PROGRAM?

This 6-week body reset program is designed to move your body out of “storage” mode through a combination of: a clean eating diet + specific supplements + strength training workouts. By doing this your body will be able to burn FAT and SUGAR again the right way!

Jon wanted me to cut out drinking too, but the reason I didn’t was because I wanted this to be a complete lifestyle change. Not just a quick fix. So I started my 6-week body reset journey in order to reset my insulin and cortisol levels which properly burn fat and sugars in your body.

TOTAL BODY FAT LOSS 6-WEEKS = 2.7%

6 MONTHS AFTER = 6% BODY FAT LOSS

JANUARY 2019 ONLY 3 WEEKS = 3% BODY FAT LOSS
(maximum body fat loss for women = 1% per week)

The biggest transformation from my workouts were my arms. Honestly, they are the easiest thing on my body to tone but I knew things had changed when I was getting compliments from everyone about how good my arms looked 🙂 See my full arm workout here!

THE BODY RESET PROGRAM WORKOUT

WARM-UP: about 5 min of = high knees + skip lunges + side shuffle + butt kicks

CARDIO: usually one of two things… pushing the sled with weights OR sprints on the skillmill (curved treadmill)

WEIGHT LIFTING: upper body + lower body + full body

(HIIT workout and at-home workout)

So…overall is it worth it? The personal training absolutely YES. The body reset…praise Jesus it WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ABOUT VIVE

VIVE is a group personal training gym here in Dallas focused on intense strength training workouts. If you’ve watched my Instagram stories this year you know what I’m talking about. But, don’t worry everyone can do these workouts. It just takes time to build up muscle and strength but they legit work.

A few years ago, I realized I can’t just eat whatever I want anymore because my metabolism bailed. I’ve always struggled with belly fat issues (check out my belly fat tips), and tried to figure out what diet and workout would be the for me. First, I went down the yoga and cardio route. That didn’t really work… I started spin class. Again great workout, but just didn’t do much for my body. Then I started doing Insanity videos with my friends which is a HIIT workout. Ding ding ding…we have a winner!

A few people kept telling me if you build your muscles (aka weight lifting) then you’ll burn fat faster than anything else. I didn’t want to do it though because I didn’t want to get big and bulky… When I finally gave in and just went with this type of workout, I started seeing my body change after about a month. I guess they knew what they were talking about!

I did HIIT for about a year at a local studio, but since it involved a lot of cardio on the treadmill my knees couldn’t take it so I had to take a break. A few months after that, I started at VIVE. If you follow me on Instagram, I’m sure you’ve seen me post a snippet of my workouts each week. I’m not going to lie… This was the first workout I’ve ever done where I felt like I was going to vomit after the first few classes :/ It’s HARD. But, it WORKS.
