IMPROVE 2016
{LIFE LESSONS} Three little things that should be easy to live by this year, and every year. I was going to post my New Year’s resolutions yesterday, but when I started thinking about it I decided to throw the idea out the window. Every year I’ve tried to make a typical resolutions list like get in shape, eat healthier, change a habit, etc… However, I read something yesterday that said it’s not about change, but improvement. So true. Trying to make too many changes in your life can honestly get stressful. That’s why this year I’ve decided I’m going to try and make one improvement each month this year.
I started this blog with the idea that not only would I share fashion and beauty posts, but bits and pieces about my life struggles, achievements, and whatever else it may be with a “Life Lessons” series. This year, that is my first improvement I’m going to work on. My goal is to write at least two “Life Lessons” posts each month about real situations I find myself in because I feel like a lot of us are probably going through some of the same things. Then I invite you all to weigh in, and encourage each other through the blog.
My first Life Lesson is about being fulfilled. Last year, I was so blessed to have been able to travel to Europe twice in one year. It was an experience I will never forget, and extremely eye opening. It was also a year of struggles… I made a huge decision to rebrand my company, and change the direction of my services. During this time, I realized my relationship with the Lord had been put on the back burner. Even though things were going good after I made this change within my company there was still something that felt empty inside. This weekend I figured out why I felt that way…church. When I was going to church consistently, and reading a verse each morning that is when I felt most fulfilled. It was easier to deal with my insecurities, fears, and disappointments when I had a solid foundation in my faith. I’ll dive into these issues later in this series, but what makes you feel fulfilled??
I’m not a big resolution person…I just keep striving to make positive changes throughout the year (or when it dawns on me I need them) 🙂 Happy New Year to you!

I have learned to move away from new years resolutions. If I do make any it’s always a small one. Like cut back on starbucks coffees which I did. I make it more at home now. Wonderful post. Hope you have an awesome 2016!!!
