We all know the saying, “Everything is bigger in Texas”! And the part about big hair is especially true. Unfortunately, for me, I have super fine and straight hair which makes it extremely difficult to get volume (sigh)! I’m always trying new hair products specifically for lift, and I’ve finally found a few that I love. Yay!
Davines VOLU / hair mist
I’m a huge Davines fan, and actually use there shampoo everyday. The VOLU mist is perfect for roots because it’s lightweight and doesn’t add grease or make it look/feel oily. I spritz it over my hair when it’s damp—concentrating on my roots—and it quickly adds body. It’s great for day-to-day use because I don’t notice build-up like so many similar products. The fact that it’s natural and won’t damage my hair is just an added bonus.
Kérastase Volume in Powder
The Kérastase volume in powder has texture that is similar to dry shampoo (which I really like), and it blends well! It doesn’t only add oomph to the top of my hair, either. I spray it all over before curling, and it provides noticeable thickness and volume everywhere. My hair’s texture feels really good after, too—no sticky hairspray-like film.
Fekkai Blowout Texturizing Volume Gel
I’ve been rubbing a dab of this texturizing gel to my damp hair before drying and it’s amazing. It serves as somewhat of a primer and leaves my hair feeling so nice. There’s less frizz, it’s easier to style, and I’m definitely noticing some welcomed volume. In addition, I’ll sometimes spray the Davines mist (listed above) if I’m craving Texas-sized hair.
Oribe Hair Plumping Mousse
Don’t let the mousse name scare you! This is the updated, and wonderful 2016 version of a Texas hair product. I don’t even know how they make a product that gives such mega thickness + volume, but this hair mousse is truly great. The smell alone is worth it, let alone what it does for my hair. I love this product for date night or when I need my style to last all night long.
I love big hair too! Thx for the recommendations, I will be checking them out! ?
These all look so great! The texturizing volume spray is something I really want to try out!

Oribe didn’t do anything for me. Just a waste of money,
