FAMILY RV TRIP EXPERIENCE
This year has definitely become the year of road trips! If you saw my Instagram stories a few weeks ago then you probably saw a very BIG surprise… Yep, my dad bought the family an RV! He just couldn’t stand being stuck inside anymore, haha. I was skeptical at first, but when I went with my parents for the first RV road trip I was amazing at how nice these things can be!
Before we left on our adventure to Beaver Lake in Arkansas I had to make a trip to Academy Sports + Outdoors. Since we were “camping” I wanted to get a few things like a new Yeti cooler and some Yeti coffee cups. Let’s be real… Who doesn’t love all things Yeti?
If you haven’t invested in a Yeti cooler yet I highly suggest buying one! This one was the perfect size to take down to the lake with us. Surprisingly, my dad didn’t have one to keep on the RV. Believe me… He had alllll the other gadgets you could imagine though! The storage on the RV is actually pretty decent because of all the underneath space.
A lot of you asked how it was traveling on the RV.
I’ll admit I wasn’t too excited about the actual driving part. I get car sick and my anxiety spikes… It was definitely high on the RV because I just can’t help but think about it tipping over while we are turning a corner! I know, I know… I’m being dramatic. Honestly, after taking my CBD the ride was really smooth and not too bad!
Okay so we did almost get stuck coming into the RV park because there was a pretty tight turn… However, we made it! Once we were parked we were able to open up the RV which actually creates quite a bit of space. The campsite was great too because we had a little table and a cute fire pit where I tried to make morning coffee… I failed though, haha. Luckily, the RV has a full kitchen so we weren’t stuck making all the food outside.
It was really fun though to set up our outdoor picnic area where we put out some chairs, a portable grill, and I bought a few yard games like corn hole to play after dinner. Academy has a lot of corn hole board options you should check out too!
My Hiking Backpack
I’ve been doing a lot of walking over the last several months and I knew there were going to be some hiking trails where we were staying so I decided to invest in a hiking backpack. This Magellan Outdoors backpack has the built in water pouch so you don’t have to mess with carrying a water bottle. Now that I have it I really want to do more long hikes wherever I travel to next!
I also needed some new running shoes and I almost always look at Academy first. Not only do they have a great selection of shoes, but they have some crazy good deals! These ASICS are on sale for $49 right now!
So, will I be going on another family RV trip soon?! Maybe not right away… But, yes overall it was so much fun and a great way to explore the country!
