MY HOME DECOR STYLE
I’ll be the first to admit home decor is NOT my thing… It’s taken me over 3 years to finally get my house decorated to truly feel like a “home”! After traveling almost all summer last year a friend of mine asked me if I was happy to be back home? Honestly, no I wasn’t. Not because I wanted to travel more, but because my house didn’t feel like “me” or make me happy to come home to. That’s when I decided I needed to redecorate a few things…
When I bought my house I was so rushed to get it decorated for my 30th birthday and to throw a housewarming party. I just bought all neutral stuff and whatever any other blogger had been posting about…which was all white stuff at the time. The biggest thing I knew I wanted to change was my couch. I’ve never had a sectional and super comfy couch so that was the first thing I went on the hunt for and I’m SO happy I bought it.
After I got the couch, I soon realized I needed a sofa table to go next to it because reaching for my drink on the coffee table was too difficult. The rest of the decor was easier to do because I already had a lot of it, or I knew I could find inexpensive decor things in time. I’m so happy I changed the rug to a black rug too.

SHELVING DECOR
Next, I really wanted to get rid of my gigantic dining table because “hi” it’s just me living here. I was trying to look for inspiration on Pinterest and saw a black dining table. I fell in love with it! It fits sooooo much better in my dining room and still looks so cute with my white dining chairs and cowhide rug.

DINING ROOM TABLE ACCENTS
Last, I never felt like my bedroom was ever fully decorated. I really liked having an all white bed, but I did want a little color. I had decided to move all of the navy accents up to my bedroom like these navy velvet curtains. Then I saw this amazing area rug and bought it on a whim. After I bought it though I couldn’t figure out how to blend the navy and brighter colors from the rug… Then I had an idea… PHOTOS! Like real life photos I’ve taken on a lot of my travels. So I found these gold frames for above my bed and some wooden frames for the nightstands then printed off photos (mostly from my iPhone) and ta-da!! I love it.

The kitchen stayed the same because it was the main selling point of the house for me. I actually got to pick out the backsplash and lights luckily. Although, my builder did a great job choosing the white quartz and white cabinets. The only thing I’d like to change eventually is putting in a white sink.
