GIRLS TRIP TO THE GROVE IN TYLER TEXAS
Hey y’all! So, if you didn’t know already I grew up in a fairly small town in Oklahoma. Getting a new restaurant was a BIG deal. Well, if you’ve ever heard of Tyler, Texas I’m sure you know it’s also a really really small town. When The Grove opened it was a HUGE deal for this little town. Now it’s “the place” to go even if you don’t live in Tyler.
I actually took a blogger road trip a while back when The Grove in Tyler, TX opened. I’ve gotta share all the details about this amazing East Texas venue. I promise you’ll see why we drove 2 hours outside of Dallas just for lunch. If you’re remotely familiar with East Texas you probably wouldn’t think upscale, right? That’s why owner Michael Herd decided to take things into his own hands, and develop a restaurant/event venue people like us would make the trip out to see. Honestly, I would drive out to The Grove Tyler every weekend for the food if I could… Really… My friends and I always talk about taking a weekend day trip out there because it’s so good.
Now let me introduce you to my dallas fashion blogger friends! Tanya Foster, our ring leader for the trip (thank you!) writes Tanya Foster blog. Tiffany Davros recently started her blog, Street Style Squad. You may know the other two ladies, Heather Anderson and Cathy Williamson, who write SoHeather and The Middle Page from my other posts featuring our Chic at Every Age series.
The Grove Tyler is everything for everyone. A crazy amazing bar that looks like something you would see in NYC for phenomenal happy hour cocktails. A smoke shack for the business guy on his lunch break. A formal dining area for the ladies who brunch. An outdoor entertaining and seating area for the family. AND… If you want to go all out for a big event then there is a completely separate event building with outdoor lawn. Seriously if you lived in Tyler, TX why go anywhere else?! Plus, the food is not only delicious, but affordable. Keep scrolling to see this summer peach salad we tasted which I’ve been craving every day since we visited (maybe the chef will give me the recipe?). Oh yeah, and have you ever had a watermelon sandwich???
