summer dining table decor

It’s June which means summer is officially here! One of my absolute favorite things to decorate in my house is my dining table. Now that I’m actually a homeowner, and not in a small apartment I have room for a pretty dining table. My summer dining table decor has to be my favorite tablescape so far. And…with Aerin Lauder’s new collection at Williams Sonoma the gorgeous blue and white tied right in with the navy accent color throughout my house.

It’s kind of ironic because the first coffee table book I bought was Aerin Lauder’s, and this week I’ll actually get to meet her! If you’re in the Dallas area you can meet her too on Thursday, June 8th at the Williams Sonoma in NorthPark Mall. The event starts at 6:30pm so come join me! I’ll probably be there all night because I could spend hours in Williams Sonoma…and lot’s of money!

My tablescape design started with this cute tropical leaf table runner, and was the basis of my “summer tropical beach” theme.

I wanted some fun pops of color since my dining table and chairs are neutral. I was originally thinking adding some hot pink to the table because I found these gorgeous gold rimmed pink wine glasses that I had to have… BUT, then I saw the Aerin Collection at Williams Sonoma with the pretty blues and my entire tablescape design changed!

Even though I love pink, my accent color throughout my house is navy blue so the Aerin Collection blue glasses made more sense. Next, I knew I wanted to use classic white plates and these woven chargers went perfect with the whole “summer tropical beach” theme I was developing. I wanted to keep the place setting simple so I decided on white napkins with these jute napkin rings. I already had the gold flatware which tied in with the candle holders and my gold bar cart.

Then I started thinking about serving dishes because I love a good serving bowl, and if you’re hosting a dinner party you don’t want to serve out of a plastic container. Condiments are usually pretty important at a summer BBQ or dinner so how cute are these leaf condiment bowls?!

And ta-da… My summer dining table decor was complete!

Now I’m just trying to coordinate with my friends schedules to host a dinner party! Although…I think I’ll be hosting a few dinner parties this summer because I love this tablescape so much. Also, you can’t have a summer dinner party without an amazing bottle of Whispering Angel rosé!
