I’ve got some really BIG news I’ve been keeping a secret since last week… You’ll have to scroll down to find out, but it’s this exact color combination! These really are my favorite colors (no surprise)… I’m a neutral girl so when I was putting this outfit together it was super easy because what goes better together than black, brown and white? But, what looks even better instead of a great pair of black skinny jeans? Black velvet jeans from Nordstrom!

I’ve been talking a lot about velvet this season, but I really love this trend! I’ve had the same pair of black skinny jeans for a few years now. The fit good, and look good. However, I think it’s time to get a new pair this year. Instead of a basic black pair of skinny jeans, it’s all about the velvet jean. These black velvet skinny jeans look more sophisticated and don’t fade like normal jeans!

I always buy my jeans at Nordstrom because they have the best selection of high and low priced jeans, and they have great alterations. I specifically picked these velvet jeans because you all know I have super skinny chicken legs. Usually, I don’t have to get my jeans hemmed but these were a little long. Totally fine though because it only took about a week to get altered!

If you’re thinking about a new pair of black jeans this year I really think you should consider the velvet jean. They even look nice enough you could get away with wearing them at work!

So what’s my BIG surprise… Meet Cooper!!

SPCA, adopt don't shop, dogs SPCA of Texas, adopt dogs, puppyI adopted him last week at the SPCA influencer event. Honestly, I was NOT planning on coming home with a dog! I’ve been thinking about getting another one because Jaxson is getting older and needs someone to keep him on his toes. I really wanted a golden retriever, but I just couldn’t justify it at this point in my life. So when I saw Cooper and heard his story I was hooked 🙂

He is 6 years old, and 6 pounds. So tiny! But, a huge personality! He was rescued from a puppy mill at the end of September. He had to have 10 teeth pulled, and get neutered…poor guy. He’s doing much better now, but still a little skittish.

How is Jaxson? Well… He’s pretty pissed, haha. I think he is still wondering when he’s going home. I haven’t mentioned anything about Cooper yet because I’ve felt so guilty bringing him home to Jaxson. I know he will be fine and forgive me soon though.

If anyone is thinking about getting a dog this holiday season I strongly encourage you to adopt!!! These guys deserve love and a home just as much as any other dog!

  1. Love that you adopted a new fur baby! I always say adopt, don’t shop! Congrats on the new member of your family.

  2. Such a cute outfit! I’m all on board with the velvet trend and those velvet pants are gorgeous! I love your story about adopting your new fur baby. Mine’s an adoptee from the pound, and I’m also thinking about getting another one. It hurts my heart to see all these dogs in the pounds with tragic backstories.

  3. HI Copper!!!!! I’m so happy for you two! He’s just adorable and I want to hug him. Obviously I love dogs. I adopted my little girl over 12 years ago (I was 22) and she has changed my life for the better in a huge way. Her name is Bella and she send some puppy love to Cooper. Congrats on your new snuggle buddy.
