ANDAZ MAYAKOBA MEXICO

Today I’m taking you back to my recent trip to Mexico for “Travel Tuesday”! My brother is getting married this weekend, and his bachelor party was a few weeks ago. So…my mom and I decided to take a super last minute trip to the beach since the boys were on vacation too. That’s only fair, right? We also wanted a tan before the wedding, and that’s a good enough excuse on it’s own in my opinion.

We wanted to go somewhere that was easy to get to, but not too busy. That’s when I thought about Mayakoba in Riviera Maya. I’d been seeing a lot of my blogger friends go down to visit recently and it looked gorgeous. A friend of mine had been to the Andaz Mayakoba so we decided to try it out! Now just a little back story… My family has been to Mexico a LOT… Like my mom has been over 20 times! However, this was by far the absolute BEST MEXICO TRIP EVER!!!

First off, it didn’t even feel like Mexico at all… It honestly felt like we were in Costa Rica or somewhere. There is a lagoon where you take these adorable river boats to and from your hotel room up to the main area where the restaurants are located. You can also take them over to different hotels throughout the day, and they have this really fun tour which you have to take while you are there.

Two of the most popular things about Andaz Mayakoba are the “Sanctuary” which is the lobby area, and then the beautiful paintings throughout the property. When you arrive at the hotel each person gets a tiny pebble to throw into the water and make a wish. It’s a mayan tradition…and I hope mine came true!

There are two main pool areas, but we mainly stayed at the one down by the beach because we went and walked the beach each afternoon. Normally, when we are in Mexico we go out to dinner in town because sometimes the hotel food isn’t the best. Let me just tell you…we stayed at the hotel almost every night because the food was so amazing! Also, it was so convenient to grab a golf cart and go over to the other hotels for dinner.

Y’all should know I’m a foodie so when I say the food is amazing…believe me!

Our room was an ocean front suite with it’s own private plunge pool. The decor in the room (and really the entire hotel) was so stinking cute! I kinda wanted to steal one of the cute colorful baskets off the wall. The beds were so comfortable too, and everything around the property was kept so clean.

A few other really fun things about Mayakoba area was the farmers market area in the middle of the compound. We went on Sunday morning, and I fell in love with the beautiful Catholic church. I seriously want to get married down there, but I kinda need a man to do that… Like I said earlier, maybe the wish I made in the Sanctuary will come true 🙂

If any of you are thinking about your next beach vacation I have to say you really should consider Andaz Mayakoba! It was honestly one of the best trips I’ve taken in a while, and I can’t say enough good things about the property. Actually, I’m trying to convince my best friend to have her bachelorette party down there because I want to go back so bad!! Fingers crossed! Regardless, I know Mayakoba will be at the top of my list when I’m thinking about my next beach vacation!

*Thank you Andaz Mayakoba for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
