three ways to wear cowboy boots, white flare sleeve blouse, cowboy boots, brooke burnett, dallas fashion blogger, houston rodeo 2017Howdy y’all! Haha just typing that sounds funny in my head. So I’m definitely not a country girl, but I do officially own a pair of cowboy boots. I think it’s a requirement when you move to Texas! So with the Houston Rodeo in full swing I thought it would be a good time to show you all “Three Ways to Wear Your Cowboy Boots.”

I’ve recently teamed up with Reliant Energy to help spread the word about their new “Life Switched On” campaign. This partnership came at a perfect time considering I recently purchased my own home! There are so many energy companies out there, and you may not put a ton of thought into which one you choose. However, I may be a little biased but I think Reliant is the BEST. 😉

So you’re probably thinking what do Reliant Energy, the rodeo, and a fashion blogger have in common? Well… Right now, if you sign up with the Reliant Rodeo plan you receive a $100 Cavender’s gift card! That means if you don’t own a pair of Cowboy boots then here is your chance to purchase a pair, and Cavender’s is the place to buy cowboy boots! Visit their page here to learn more here.

So let’s talk rodeo style now!

I recently wrote a post on the denim skirt trend for spring. I remember wearing a denim skirt when I was a little girl, don’t you? However, I haven’t been super into this comeback until the edgier denim skirt appeared like this frayed hem denim skirt that is only $35!

So if you have an old jean skirt pull it on out of your closet because it looks great with your cowboy boots. You can wear it with a plaid shirt for a more traditional rodeo look, or dress it up like I’ve done here with this cute off the shoulder top from Cavender’s.

I’m always cold so a jean jacket is another favorite item to wear with cowboy boots. It’s so easy to throw on with a casual dress like this blush dress from Cavender’s. It’s definitely an outfit you could wear all day at the rodeo, and then out for dinner.

Some of you may be thinking blue denim is the only denim jacket out there. Not true! I bought the cutest light pink jean jacket last year, and I wear it all the time. If I wasn’t wearing this blush dress, I could see myself wearing it with a simple white or black dress for a night out at the rodeo.

You may be sensing a theme here… Denim, denim, denim. It’s not hard to realize denim and cowboy boots make a perfect match. That’s why my last outfit is a classic boot and jean combo. I’d always advise skinny jeans with your boots so you don’t have extra fabric sticking out at the top.

I thought a simple white top would be great for this outfit because it gives more attention to the cowboy boots. But, flare sleeves are super on trend right now which is why I loved this white blouse from Cavender’s!

Alrighty, now it’s time to get excited! I’m giving away two tickets to the Luke Bryan concert at the Houston Rodeo this Thursday night!
