Okay so being single during the holiday season isn’t that fun… It’s that time of year where you want to really enjoy all the festive things with someone you love. I haven’t been single during the holidays over the last two years so it’s really hit quite hard. Especially watching this cute couple ice skating during my trip to Aspen (insert eye roll).
However, it’s the perfect time to cherish your friendships and enjoy the holiday season in all its glory! That’s why Lynlee and I just went on the best girls road trip through Colorado. I’m not saying you have to plan and an extravagant trip so you aren’t home by yourself watching Christmas movies. But, I am saying plan something with your girlfriends if no one else is taking initiative. Hello, how easy is it to do a Christmas pajamas night?!

SIDE NOTE… So I hinted on Instagram stories that Lynlee and I don’t just have blogging in common… We actually dated the same guy which is how I found out about her! I promise there was no catfight, haha! This is the guy that I dated for 4 years, and we went through pre-marital class. The first thing that came out of my mouth when my photographer at the time told me was a HUGE LAUGH! Why? Because when I dated the guy he thought being a blogger was a total joke yet his first girlfriend after me was a brunette blogger! It still makes me giggle to this day. Ironically, my blog is semi named after his nickname for me.
When I finally met Lynlee I knew it would be weird for us to be close friends, but my mutual friends from dating the guy kept telling me we would get along so well. I’m sure he would have been thrilled if I became Lynlee’s BFF instantly. We obviously saw each other a lot at blogger events where we were both respectfully nice to each other. Yes, I desperately wanted to chat with her about him because I knew he hadn’t changed at the time. But… She learned on her own.
Okay so getting to the point of this entire post… Now we are extremely close friends and it’s so nice to have another single girl in my life right now. Chances are high we will never date the same guy again (lol), but we are the best wing women. It’s actually almost more fun to spend the holidays with my girlfriends because we can laugh and talk way more than I would with a boyfriend.
Take advantage of this magical time of year to embrace old and new friendships. You never know how friendships will pan out in the future, so enjoy being single with your single gals. Get your Christmas pajamas on, grab the wine and have some holiday fun!
