I don’t think it’s any surprise plaid is once again a huge trend for fall. However, this year I feel like it is the ultimate fall trend. I was at the mall earlier this week, and every single store I went into had multiple plaid items. Literally…plaid tops, plaid pants, plaid jackets, plaid scarves, and the list goes on. So basically what I’m saying is you need to buy some plaid ASAP!
Considering I don’t wear a ton of print, I wanted to share some plaid items that can easily be transitioned into your wardrobe this fall. Even though the plaid trend this fall is more about different colored plaid items and layering plaid pieces I’m sticking to keeping this trend simple and chic.
The first plaid item you can easily add to your wardrobe is a plaid top like this lace trim plaid camisole. The print is a classic plaid print which isn’t over the top in your face. I paired it with black jeans to make this outfit a chic date night look. Although, to dress it down a bit I’d wear an oversized cream cardigan with sneakers for a daytime look!
How To Wear Plaid For Fall

If you follow my blog, you should know by now how much I love a good jacket. So what better way to incorporate plaid into an outfit than with a fun plaid blazer?! This outfit would be the perfect fall outfit for a casual Friday at work. Hopefully most of you get “causal Friday” at work and can wear jeans… But even if you can’t you could totally wear this plaid jacket with a pair of black joggers and these pointed toe flats.
The reason I would go for a plaid jacket or top over something like a plaid dress is because you can tone it down. If you are like me, you want to embrace the latest trends but I don’t need to be a statement maker! Remember my motto: simple, sophisticated, and chic.
