For planning a last minute trip to NYC for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week it was quite an amazing trip. Even more amazing…going backstage with the Frederic Fekkai team to see what really happens before the models hit the runway. It was crazy to see all the hair extensions flying around everywhere. The head stylist for the show decided to take a twist on the classic ponytail. Not going to lie, it kinda reminds me of my childhood when my mom would put barrettes in my hair. I never imagined wearing a barrette again, but I think it could be in my future! This simple, chic look is perfect to take from the runway to every day.
The following day I had the opportunity to visit the Frederic Fekkai salon where I got my hair done for the Lela Rose show I was attending that afternoon. Somehow I was lucky enough to have my hair done by Stephanie, the stylist who cuts Frederic’s hair. (She told me I had amazing hair which made me pretty happy!) I had been seeing lots of messy braided buns during NYFW so I decided to have her try the style on me. She used a few new products from the Blowout Collection to create the look. The end result…WOW. Seriously, I couldn’t believe how incredible my hair looked. I even had one of the photographers at the Lela Rose show ask to take a picture because she was so amazed.
This Monday, I am beyond excited to meet the master himself at the Frederic Fekkai salon here in Dallas. I’m slightly nervous (okay really nervous) to hear what he will have to say about my hair during my consultation with him! I love fashion, but I’ve always loved hair styling. I think it started when I would have my mom sponge roll my hair to go to school!
