Hands down this was the best birthday present! No gift could replace the experience of going to Napa. We started the day off at Ilsley Vineyards, a smaller vineyard not open to the public but our driver was friends with the owner. The owners are farmers and take care of several vineyards in the area including the second vineyard we toured. The history behind this vineyard was incredible. The family was very close friends with Robert Mondavi, another vineyard just down the road which is actually where Ilsley makes their wine. While we walked through the vineyard eating the grapes off the vines we learned you should eat the seeds in the grapes. They are full of nutrients which has been proven to help decrease cancer risks.

Our second tour was at Sodaro Vineyards. Out of all the winery visits the wines we tasted here might be my favorite (no surprise since they focus on reds – my favorite). We wrapped up the day at Porter Vineyards which by far had the best view. It was absolutely breathtaking. I remember sitting back for a second and thinking to myself this is so incredible. Porter was the only vineyard where the grapes had not been picked from the vines for harvest. We walked through the vineyard to a cave on the side of the hill where we enjoyed our tasting. After the tasting we finished up the evening watching the sunset over the valley.

We expected to have cooler fall weather while we were visiting, but somehow we brought the Texas heat with us. Thank goodness I found this sheer printed tank before we left. I loved the mix of fall colors in the blouse, and it matched perfectly with my new berry colored satchel. This outfit captures everything I love about fall!
