I’ve always been one to workout, but being consistent with working out is a different story… This past month I finally decided to kick things up a notch, and have been working out at Equinox Preston Hollow. I’m not really the “gym” type, but I have to say I’m addicted to Equinox now. One of the things I loved was the fitness test you do with a personal trainer after joining. I had no idea what my body fat percentage was or what areas were my strengths/weaknesses. Wow did I learn a LOT…
Everyone who joins Equinox gets a complimentary personal training session which persuaded me to buy more sessions because it was so beneficial. I typically do better when I have someone instructing me what to do which is why I love all of the different workout classes they have to offer. I did think I was going to die in the Metabolic Meltdown class, BUT it was one of the best workouts I’ve ever done. OMG my other favorite class…Best Butt Ever! I don’t have much of a butt so this girl needs all the help she can get. One final thing I really really loved about Equinox Preston Hollow is the level of luxury this gym offers. It makes working out much easier when you actually want to go to the gym. They’ve got chilled eucalyptus towels (amazing!), a cafe with healthy and delicious smoothies (I’ll admit I like green smoothies now), an incredible spa, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They’ve even offered a complimentary 3 day trial pass to my followers!!

It’s a lot easier to maintain a balanced lifestyle when you have an amazing gym like Equinox to keep you motivated to workout. I don’t workout every day, but I try to go to the gym at least 4 times a week. Most of you know I’m a foodie so working out also helps me stay balanced. I devote one day a week to “cleansing” my system…that’s where that green smoothie comes in. Yes, I have a cheat day (or two) each week but that’s living life. The key to a balanced lifestyle for me is knowing my body (thank you Equinox), and knowing change takes time so don’t beat yourself up if you miss a workout or eat a cupcake!
