BEST TRADER JOE'S RED WINES

Okay so who doesn’t love Trader Joe’s? I don’t know what my life was like before…kidding 😉 Not only do I love Trader Joe’s for their small grocery store feel and amazing season items, but they have an amazing wine selection. The best part about their wine section is that most of the wines are fairly inexpensive!

Y’all know I’m a big wine person… Specifically red wine. For some reason, white wine gives me a headache so I steer clear of it. Also, I try to stick to foreign and organic wines if possible. Not saying there aren’t other great wines out there that aren’t organic or foreign. Believe me… I love my tasty Napa wines! I actually just got all of my wine deliveries from my recent trip to Sonoma and am super excited! But, I’m not drinking that wine on a regular basis.

A few of you have asked me what my favorite red wines are and which ones are my “go-to” picks. So I finally decided to do a little research and put together the best Trader Joe’s red wines under $15! Personally, I think I got a good variety from bold to easy drinking wines. I’ll let you all be the ultimate decision makers!

Best Trader Joe’s Red Wines Under $15

BEST TRADER JOE'S RED WINES Masca del Tacco Susumaniello

Masca del Tacco Susumaniello – $10

Okay truthfully I just bought this wine because I loved the bottle, but it turned out to be one of my favorites! I’ve never heard of the susamaniello grape before which comes from the ‘heel’ of Italy. I feel like a lot of Italian wines are on the lighter side, but this one has a very good medium body flavor. I’d compare it to a cabernet, but more fruit forward.

Rosa Dell Olmo Barolo BEST TRADER JOE'S RED WINES

Rosa Dell Olmo Barolo – $15

Another wine from Italy, this Barolo wine comes from the Nebiollo grape which is a lighter skin red grape. I’d compare this one to a pinot noir or something lighter and more fruit forward. Great for a warmer day!

Corvelia Zinfandel - BEST TRADER JOE'S RED WINES

Corvelia Zinfandel – $10

So when I was trying to find one more wine for this post I came across this Zinfandel I’d never seen at Trader Joe’s before… And, I spend a lot of time in that wine section. There was only one bottle left on the shelf which could mean it’s really good or they are trying to get rid of it. Luckily, this was a FANTASTIC pick!! I personally love Zinfandel wines because they have a good robust flavor with a subtle fruit flavor. This one is an absolute MUST if you can find it!!

La Garenne Red Blend

La Garenne Red Blend – $9

If you like dry or oak forward wines then you will really like this wine! It’s a red blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot. It’s a great red wine for heavier dinners and especially if you are cooking a steak or red meat in my opinion. A lot of French wines have a more oak and earthy wine if you like that.

Nero Grande Appassimento

Nero Grande Appassimento – $7

Never heard of this in my life and not even going to try to pronounce it, ha. This red wine is another great lighter bodied wine. I drink it a lot with pastas or fish because I don’t drink white wine. Yes, it’s also another Italian wine but I really like wines from Italy clearly.

Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon - BEST TRADER JOE'S RED WINES

Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon – $12

This wine is my #1 “go-to” red wine from Trader Joe’s! It’s organic which usually tends to make me feel better the next day. I always have a bottle of Bonterra at home for those nights I just need a drink. It’s also a great wine and price point to take to a party or when you have friends over! It’s what I bring every Monday night for our weekly girls night.
