I can’t believe it’s already been 8 months since I moved into my first home! It’s only taken me that long to finally complete my bedroom decor. I’ll admit home decor is not my thing… After decorating my home office and living room I decided I needed some help perfecting my bedroom. Luckily, I partnered with the experts at Laurel & Wolf, an online interior design company that made my bedroom anxieties disappear!

Since I didn’t have a huge budget to work with, hiring a traditional interior designer was out of the question. BUT…hiring an online interior designer was a different story! Laurel & Wolf is the perfect solution for those of you in my exact spot. They’re the ultimate online interior design service that connects you to a professional interior designer to create your perfect space for a low flat fee. Talk about dream come true…

NIGHTSTAND DECOR

So where do you begin with your bedroom decor? I’m thinking a bed is the most important, haha. I decided it was time to upgrade my bed to a king because Jaxson and I clearly need more space 😉 Surprisingly, I found my king size bed at Lamps Plus…who knew they had other furniture besides lamps?! And I’m talking super cute furniture! Once I had my bed I started to work with Laurel & Wolf on the other design elements.

The first thing you do after setting up your Laurel & Wolf account is input your room specs and upload photos of your current decor + design inspiration pictures. I used the Signature Design Package so after I input these details, I received initial concept boards from three designers, which gave me an idea of the designs they each were envisioning for my space. I’m not going to lie, I really loved all three designers but I decided to use Caroline S. Rodgers because she was a Texas gal.

BEDDING DECOR

Like I mentioned earlier, I had a smaller budget so I really wanted to strategize about how best to spend my money. I decided there were two major things I wanted to update: my nightstands and my rug. I’ve had the same nightstands from Target for way too long. I’m obviously a fan of white so I choose these gorgeous white nightstands with gold hardware. They are a great size, and I wanted something with drawers because I keep my bible, books, and tv remotes by my bed.

NEUTRAL RUGS

Next, we had to find a great neutral rug. I might have been a little difficult when it came to choosing… I had to have them send three different ones (my bad!) until we finally found the perfect fit. Actually, I ended up getting two rugs because I had some extra room in my budget! I really liked the idea of layering this fluffy sheepskin rug over the bigger area rug. Jaxon is also a huge fan of the rug because it’s so soft. Actually, anytime I can’t find him or he won’t come when I call him I know exactly where he is hiding…

After we got the two most important decor items on my list covered I decided to use the rest of my budget on a few new accessories. Caroline found this beautiful mother of pearl box which was perfect for my dresser. Also, I have a lot of coffee table books so Caroline found these pretty agate bookends for my nightstand. Next, I needed some great wall art. If you are looking for any art or prints then you’ve got to check out Minted. That’s where I got this NYC picture and these blush shimmer prints which frame my tv on the wall across from my bed.

MISCELLANEOUS BEDROOM DECOR

I added a few other things like this clothes hanging rack, curtains, and vanity accessories. Actually, on my weekly Target run (#girlproblems) I found this amazing ivory chevron bone mirror for $50! Gosh I love Target… But seriously what girl doesn’t?

Overall, I’m one happy girl with the outcome of my Laurel & Wolf experience. Finally, I want to keep my room clean instead of leaving clothes thrown all over the place (blogger problems!). Honestly, I think I sleep better with my room being “complete”. Now my closet…different story! Stay tuned for the day that reveal hits the blog, ha!

If you all are looking for help decorating any room in your home, I truly recommend using Laurel & Wolf. They have been fantastic to work with, and are offering my followers up to 30% off using code: ONESMALLBLONDE.

    1. Thanks so much! Ugh it’s so old… I wish I could find it again, but got it at a local store in Dallas several years ago 🙁
